Gop Proposes to cut Billions

I'm sure every single person in the United States wants to b entitled to food that isn't toxic, to drink water that isn't poisonous, to breathe air that is breathable, to work on a safe environment and to the money they put into Social Security. The EPA is very important agency for the United State citizenes because it helps all of these things come true. Although the budget cut is going to be about 1 billion from the 10.3 that is currently in the EPA, this will have an impact on their functionality. Looking at several blogs, people are very concerned mainly about the budget cut of the EPA, but there are other 69 bugets that are being cut that although they are not as popular and gigantic as the EPA they will also have a considerable inpact in case of an emergency. Some of these are the Flood control and Costal emergencies (-$30M), Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy   (-$899M), National Institute of Health (-$1B) and the list could go longer.

Every of this massive cuts will affect the functionality of the country. Does the United States really need to make this risk? There could be alot of after effects from this desicion that would affect every single person.

  1. I completely agree with you about the people of the U.S. needing to fund the EPA and FDA. At this time more than ever. We are in a time where there is soon to be a food revolution on our hands. Too many politics have been filling their pockets with lobby’s money in order to look the other way on food safety and policy. As American we have been feed into the commercialization of foods. Food companies would rather spend money on finding ways to get round selling a product rather than changing the product completely. Case in point, Trans Fat. Many companies can get away with labeling a product “0 Trans Fat” because Trans Fat is the solid version of hydrogenated oil. Many might ask why are Trans Fats bad in the first place, because it is unnatural substance which is usually found in animals, but in much smaller amounts that we are being served in our breads, cereals, and pasta. With large amount of Trans Fat your body can’t break them down and eventually causing a higher risk of heart disease more than saturated fats
